Memorial Scholarship
The George & Suzanne Hurley Memorial Scholarship awards $2,000 to a graduating senior from Stephen Decatur High School, Worcester Preparatory School, Pocomoke High School, or Snow Hill High School who plans to pursue higher education at a 4-year accredited college or university.
The scholarship is renewable annually at $1,000, provided the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and submits a transcript for verification.
Established in memory of George and Suzanne Hurley, this scholarship honors two individuals who were the heart and soul of the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum. Their nearly 40 years of dedication helped preserve the 1891 U.S. Life-Saving Station and document the history of Ocean City.
Eligibility & Application Requirements:
Unweighted GPA of at least 2.5, certified by a school counselor.
A write-up of where you see yourself in 5 years
Copy of college acceptance letter
Essay (see scholarship application for details).
An interview may be required.
