The George & Suzanne Hurley Memorial Scholarship awards $2,000 to a graduating senior from Stephen Decatur High School, Worcester Preparatory School, Pocomoke High School, or Snow Hill High School who plans to pursue higher education at a 4-year accredited college or university in Maryland.
The scholarship is renewable annually at $1,000, provided the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and submits a transcript for verification.
Established in memory of George and Suzanne Hurley, this scholarship honors two individuals who were the heart and soul of the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum. Their nearly 40 years of dedication helped preserve the 1891 U.S. Life-Saving Station and document the history of Ocean City.
Eligibility & Application Requirements:
Unweighted GPA of at least 2.5, certified by a school counselor.
One letter of recommendation from a non-family member (teachers and counselors should not be used).
Copy of college acceptance letter
Essay (see scholarship application for details).
Interview may be required.
The deadline for the application is May 25, 2026
