Hi, I’m Maggie McConnell.
Maggie McConnell grew up in Ocean City whose roots run deep into the maritime history and culinary heritage of the Eastern Shore. Born into a multi-generational family of watermen and restaurant owners, Maggie’s connection to the local waters began in her youth, clamming offshore with her father, Billy. From her early duties cleaning out the dredge and staying out of the way on her father's boat to later working side-by-side with him in the kitchen when he was co-owner of Captain’s Galley in the Commercial Harbor.
Maggie’s upbringing was steeped in Ocean City’s rich culture, shaped by dinner table stories of local fishing, history, and community lore. This lifelong immersion instilled in her a profound love for the area's past, inspiring her volunteer work with Coastal Bays and various Veterans projects throughout Worcester County. Today, Maggie is proud to see her family's legacy continue into the next generation; her two children both work in the marine industry, carrying forward a proud coastal tradition.
