Hi, I’m Christine Okerblom.

Christine has lived on Maryland’s Eastern Shore since moving from Illinois in 1995 and has developed a deep appreciation for the region’s natural beauty. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, swimming, biking, and making memories with her family.

Since joining the Town of Ocean City in 2017 as Assistant Curator, Christine has advanced to the role of Curator, where she leads efforts to preserve Ocean City’s rich history. She holds a degree in Environmental Studies from Salisbury University and began her museum career with the St. Michaels Maritime Museum and the Delmarva Discovery Center Museum.

Christine is passionate about connecting people with the past and the natural world. Her professional focus includes preserving historic structures, developing engaging and accessible programming, creating opportunities for interns, and fostering a healthy work environment where museum professionals can thrive.
