John Williams

Information in this record:
Another of our oldest citizens, Mr. John Williams, passed away Thursday night at the Peninsula General Hospital, Salisbury. He was about 78 years of age and was postmaster here when John Wanamaker was Post Master General. His remains were taken to Evergreen Cemetery, Berlin for interment. Mr. Williams was for years a familiar figure around the pier, catching lots of fish himself, and furnishing bait for the city fishermen. Since the fire destroyed the pier he has been attending to the beach fishermen and will be missed this summer. April 13, 1929.
