Charles H. Rayne

Obituary Date: 3/23/1929

Information in this record:
Charles H. Rayne, aged 59 years, a barber of Berlin, died of a heart attach at his home Monday morning. He had been in poor health for several months. For almost thirty years Mr. Rayne had been engaged in the barbering trade in Berlin. Early in the morning he had taken ill and went to an open window for air. He attracted the attention of Night Officer Ira C. Tyndal. Simultaneously with the arrival of the physician, Mr. Rayne fell back from the open window and died. Mr. Rayne was born in Sinepuxent district of Worcester County, son of the late James Rayne and wife (page torn). Funeral services were held in the afternoon, the Rev. W. Ernest Greenfield, pastor of Stevenson Methodist Church officiating. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery here. Besides his wife, Mrs. Myra Powell Rayne, the deceased is survived by one brother, J. Edward Rayne, of Berlin, and four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Kelly, Mrs. Harry E. Palmer, Mrs. Catherine Birch, and Mrs. Annie Cropper all of this vicinity. 23 March 1929.
