Sallie M. Cropper (nee Hastings)

Obituary Date: 9/6/1943

Information in this record:
Mrs. Sallie Mary Cropper, aged 86 years, prominent resident of Ocean City and wife of Mr. Thomas J. Cropper, died around four o'clock on Monday afternoon at her Ocean City residence, following an illness of only four weeks. Her death was caused by complications of diseases. Born on April 21, 1857 at Friendship, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Adeline Hastings. A lifelong resident of northern Worcester County, Mrs. Cropper had been a resident of Ocean City for the past 48 years. She and her husband had been married for sixty-three years, have been united on February 17, 1880. Mrs. Cropper was a faithful member of Atlantic Methodist Church at Ocean City and one of the oldest inhabitants of the resort. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Cropper and by one daughter and five sons. They are: Mayor Clifford P. Cropper, Harry J. Cropper, Hugh A. Cropper, Thomas Q. Cropper, Lyle R. Cropper and Violet Cropper Davis, all of Ocean City. Interment was made in Buckingham Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Berlin.
