George Christopher

Chancery Court Date: 11/1/1836

Information in this record:
November 1836 Mary Christopher and Amelia Christopher of Somerset County by Harriett Christopher their mother and next friend against Elijah Hastings of Sussex County, Delaware. That George Christopher the father of your complainants departed this life in Somerset County, Maryland sometime in the latter part of 1813 with a will. That this land in Worcester County to be sold and divided between his three children: Ebin / Eben, Mary and Amelia. That letters of adm. were granted to Tukman Christopher of Worcester County. HIGH RIDGE, HILLS SUPPLY, PARKER'S SUPPORT, 96 1/2 acres. That Tuckman made the sale but did not pay any of them, using the money for his own personal use. That Tuckman Christopher has since departed this life intestate. That Elijah Hasting has continued to occupy the land reaping the benefits that George Christopher left the following children: Eben, Mary, Amelia, Nancy, Samuel and William, that Mary and Amelia were minors at the time of their father's death and that now only Amelia is still a minor, and that Eben has sold all his right to the land. Will of George Christopher names son William, daughter Nancy, daughter Marah, son Eben, daughter Mary, daughter Amelia, son Samuel. 15 November 1813w. 3 December 1813p.
