Isaac James Bowen

Information in this record:
Mr. Isaac James Bowen, a veteran of the civil war, residing on the bay shore, near Spence, died Monday night aged about seventy years. He was a brave soldier and saw hard fighting. It is said that when in
battle he would keep on firing after the order had been given to stop,
and his commanding officers had trouble to curb his propensity for a
fight. For a number of years Mr. Bowen was feeble minded although he
appeared to be healthy otherwise. He died of pneumonia. 8 February 1902 DM
