Rachel Bassett

Information in this record:
The real estate of Rachel Bassett orphan of said John Bassett in the care of Rachael Bassett, her guardian. A view and value of the land. That there are about one hundred and twenty one acres of land, about seventy nine acres of woodland and about 50 acres of cleared land and there is on the premises about 889 panels of fence about 9 logs high with one old house build of hewed logs 20 feet by 16 feet, a brick chimney, there is about 23 old decaying apple trees. We permit the guardian to clear two acres of land a year and to plant one-half of the cleared land in Indian corn and other half to be seeded in wheat, rye and flax and there we look on the annual value of the lands and appurtenances including the widow dower and the aforesaid distribution to be worth no more than $24.
