Suggestions For Genealogy Novices
To find your relatives in these records, you can browse through the list of names at the left of this page which are in alphabetical order. Or simply enter your last name in the search box. You can also enter a year.

These records are mostly from early Worcester County, Maryland, Chancery, Family, and Orphan's Courts, as well as obituaries and probated wills.

If you are looking for an ancestor who may have been a slave, you can also type in the last name and the word slave or the word negro. The same approach applies for Native Americans who in these early records were referred to as Indians. Sometimes names were mispelled. If you do not find the name you are looking for try mispelling it. Occasionally this will yield results, though not always.

There are several thousand records in this database. Good luck and have fun searching!
